@therealdealnews The fallout from Los Angeles' fires in January is hard to fathom. The #PalisadesFire consumed 37 square miles, roughly the size of Miami; the #EatonFire, 22 square miles or nearly all of Manhattan. The #HughesFire, sparked north of the #Palisades, nearly doubled in size in just a few hours to stretch 10,000 acres. All three were largely contained by late January when rain, a doubled-edged sword, swept the region, aiding firefighters but adding the risk of mudslides. Conversations among developers, brokers, builders and landlords on how to rebuild are already underway and have been since Gov. Gavin Newsom cut regulations to “help #LosAngeles rebuild faster and stronger” five days after the first plumes of smoke in the Palisades.
